Bio. sketch: Dr. Pan graduated with B.S. degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2016 and pursued a PhD degree in Prof. Xiaochun Li’s group at UCLA from 2016 to 2021. His research mainly focuses on: 1) High-performance metallic systems’ design and advanced manufacturing; 2) Service failure and degradation prevention for metallic systems (e.g., wear, oxidation, corrosion). Prof. Pan has published over 60 papers in top journals like Nature Communications, Corrosion Science, Nano Energy, Nano Letters, etc. He is also serving as the registered reviewer for various renowned journals (Materials Today, Acta Materialia, Materials & Design, etc.), the invited reviewer for Elsevier book series, the Guest Editor for Friction and Coatings, and the Editorial Board for Frontiers in Mechanical Engineering, Surface Technology, and Tungsten. His paper has received the 2019 Best Review/Research Paper of Journal Friction, and he has obtained the globally reputed and the most competitive Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship in 2022.
